Winter storms have blanketed the hilltop where I live in a sheet of white powder and ice.

The woodshed seems almost out of reach as the slippery path invites viewing while defying access.

In the quiet of night creatures leave there mark on the frost only to be forgotten with the next snowfall.

Every living surface is quieted by the cold, encased in crystalline sleep.

Christmas lights at the door and glowing Santas welcome guests who have braved the icy roads.

Once indoors, the fire warms the bones and Deirdra's decorations warm the heart.
Warm wishes to you all this Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
You can almost feel the warmth coming from that hearth stove!
Merry Christmas John and Deirdra! Thanks for sharing your Christmas joys with us and especially the Christmas song you recorded together. Just finished watching it on youtube and it helped me re-center my mind and heart into the spirit of the Christmas season. Blessings to you and yours, Dan Knight
Thanks for the wonderful wintery photos. We hope to see you again sometime. We had a great DFA reunion in Ontario in July. My sister Joyce is moving to Oregon -- the Eugene/Roseburg area. Maybe you will connect?
Merry Christmas
Season's greetings to you both John and Deirdra.
Your photographs are enchanting and you beautiful home is relaxing and inviting.
Thanks for sharing.
We wish you all the best for a healthy and prosperous 2009 - and maybe we will hear you play one day in Scotland
love
